Psychoanalytic Electronic Publishing (PEP)

PEP Journals

The PEP-Web Archive, which can be browsed for FREE, allows users to search for titles and to read abstracts and extracts of the entire back catalog (up to and including some of the most recent editions). Version 2022 was published in February 2022 and includes the 83 journals listed below.

Anyone using PEP-Web can search the full text of all articles from these journals up to and including years placed in the brackets of each journal. Without a subscription, you will only be able to view abstracts or a paragraph. The complete text of journal articles is available to PEP-Web Archive Subscribers. However, due to contracts with the publishers, there is a three to five year moving wall (embargo of current articles) for most journals. Each year the wall moves one year forward. You can browse the table of contents up through the current issue, and searches include the complete text of the articles, but only the titles and abstracts (or summaries) will be displayed for articles in the embargo period. For details on how to obtain and receive the full text of the embargoed volumes, see links to journal publishers.

New in Version 2022

This release means that another year of the current publications move out of the publisher’s embargo period: subscribers now have access to the 2018 issues of current journals with 3-year embargoes, and 2016 issues of journals with 5-year embargoes.

In addition, we have added 4 new journals!

➡ Journal of Psychological Therapies
➡ Oedipus Annual – Greek Annual Psychoanalytic Review
➡ Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in China
➡ The International Journal of Forensic Psychotherapy

A fifth journal is also in preparation:

➡ Psychoanalysis Culture and Society

Scheduled for an intermediate release in a few months, a selection of article abstracts are available now to subscribers.

IJP-Open returns to PEP-Web!

➡ IJP-Open – Open Peer Review and Debate

IJP-Open articles and commentary are accessible to all PEP-Web subscribers. Tip: Look for the “speech bubbles” icon, located next to the article’s “print” and “download” icons to open and join in the discussion.

With this release, we are also including fixes for many of the issues, which users have reported with the initial phase of the new PEP-Web interface. We will continue to do so, and to add and develop new features that benefit our users. Please help us improve by providing feedback and reporting errors using the “Help” icon.
